You'll be surprised at how much you learn about other cultures and locations as well!
You can begin tutoring at any moment during the day, depending on your schedule, because the students are located all over the world. You can work as much or as little as you wish. Now let's move on to the application process.
Cambly Hiring Process
First and foremost, you need to have your personal computer (PC) with a chrome browser, or any other browser you preferred, and a good network connection.
Then type "Cambly.com" on your browser's tab, after you've clicked on the result page, the next you'll be taken to the next page where you'll sign up as a tutor, you can signup with your Facebook, Google, or Apple account but if you feel not to signup with these accounts I've listed, you can signup manually with the email you have access to, that you may be able to log in later.
Now, you are going to be taken to the next page where you'll have two options which are: (Cambly students 18+) and (Cambly kids).
Then choose 'Cambly students 18+' after you clicked the box we recommended to you, you will be taken to the welcome page. After that, you would arrive at the sign-up checklist which are three steps: Cambly tutor profile, Cambly supplemental questions, and Cambly connection test.
Step 1: Cambly Tutor Profile
You need to upload your profile picture to your tutor profile, it is your opportunity to promote yourself to Cambly students on your profile page, you can make changes later and there are some guidelines you should abide by:
- Your shoulders and head should be visible.
- Make sure you have appropriate lighting and a neutral background. Also, check the image quality.
- Keep your face and eyes visible.
- Avoid using logos or contact information.
- Make sure it's your photo and there's no one else in it
- No sunglasses
- No hat

Then there is a need for you to click on the 'basic info' and add your initial information such as: 'display name' example, Tutor James,' where you came from?' example Los Angeles, US, and your 'date of birth' but the students cannot be able to see your date of birth except Cambly officials.
New students can look through tutor profiles to discover someone who matches their learning objectives and personality. Returning students can use the tutor profiles to identify tutors with whom they've previously had positive encounters.
Create a video introduction
All you need to do in the first place, you should start to greet the students in that very video introduction.
Make a video demonstrating your teaching style, skill, and personality to show students what to expect from a class with you. Students may be hesitant to speak with a foreigner, so having a nice video that introduces oneself and urges students to call you is really helpful.
Recording the introduction video also has the same guidelines as the tutor profile photo.
Regarding the video, it's two options there you can record it as much as you like until you get the one that you are happy with, or you can upload it conveniently from your computer's saved files and make sure you use a good camera like a webcam for a clear picture.

Whenever a student searches for a tutor that matches their needs and if it happens you are the one, your introduction is the first thing they will see about you.
So we recommend you make your introduction more compelling and interesting because it stands like the front of your shop so make it catchy.
Add teaching style

Language
Of course, Cambly requires native English speakers, so you can select a dialect on the option given. Because English has different dialects and accents, then you should choose which one is relevant to you and if you speak another language it's added advantage if you add it because students will see it.
Work experience
In this step just know that it's not necessary to have any teaching experience, Cambly has no strict to that, but if you have any experience of teaching at another tutoring platform it's advisable to write it, it's an added advantage.
Education
In this section you're expected to tell the level of your qualifications, whether you have 1,2, or 3 Degrees, you should also tag your course profession and add a description.
Teaching certificate
Providing a teaching certificate is optional but it will be an added advantage if you have any, like TESOL, TEFL, etc, you can upload it from your computer's file if you have it, which is going to be a welcome idea.
Once you fill in all the necessary space, then scroll down to the "CONTINUE TO SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS" button you will see it turns blue which means you are ready to go to the next phase of an application.
Step 2: Cambly supplemental questions
Under this section, you would answer some questions but the student cannot see them. Cambly's do this just to venture how much zeal you have for the job. So the first thing you're going to be asked is this:
"Why do you want to tutor on Cambly?"
Cambly officials want to know your state of mind here, so they want to know what you want to bring to the table. I suggest you should narrate the qualities, and values you would deliver to students that will impress them.
You are expected to write about 500 words of values you want to deliver when you get approved.
"Where did you hear about us?"
You will be given different options on which platform you heard about them, so you're to choose where you first heard about them. But due to my own desire, I will just select 'family/friend'.
"Have you worked on any other tutoring platforms in the past?"
Cambly will display you the set of tutoring platforms whether you worked among one of them. If you ever work with one among the three just tick the one you've worked with, and if the company you have worked with is not there then tick other, and if there is none, just go ahead and click on the CONTINUE TO CONNECTION TEST.
Step 3: Cambly connection test
So this is the final portion of the signup checklist, this last step is very much important because if unluckily you haven't done it well, your application cannot be submitted.
Also, Cambly would test how efficient your device tools are, like a High-speed internet connection, good lighting, microphone or headset, and integrated camera or external camera (webcam).
So Cambly has a recommendation of a minimum of the next bit for the download of ten megabytes per second (10mbps,) and upload is a minimum of three megabytes per second (3mbps.)
